This 2391 Awareness workshop is aimed at electricians who have passed the C&G 2391-52 course and want familiarising themselves with current practice of inspection and testing.
Delegates need to bring the latest version of the reg’s book(brown version) On site guide and Guidance notes 3. Delegates should to bring their own test equipment to get the maximum benefit from the course.

The importance of inspection and testing on new installations.
Earthing Arrangements and Ze values
TT earthing arrangement and obtaining earth resistance with no electrical supply.

Brief introduction of R1 and R2 and polarity.
Introduction to using the Megger 1721Multifunction Tester
Introduction to Approved voltage testers to GS 38.
Safe Isolation – why is this important?
Safe Isolation – the correct method to isolate a 3-phase supply and locking off.
Getting results – Ze; PSC; PFC and working on 3-phase supplies.
Obtaining dead and live test results, including Zs and RCD testing.
Completing the EIC or MWEC from results obtained on a simulator rig.
Checking measured results and comparing results using the On-Site Guide
