Course Details

The safe use of abrasive wheels  and diamond tip blades course studies the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 as applied to Abrasive Wheels and diamond tip blades. It require that all persons who are responsible for the mounting of Abrasive Wheels and diamond tip blades, either on fixed or portable machines, be registered within the company as having been trained and certified following their attendance at an introductory course.

It is recommended that users refresh their knowledge every 3 years

  • Duties of Employers and Employees
  • Training requirement to HSG17 & PUWER 1998
  • Hazard and Risks arising from the use of abrasive wheels and diamond tip blades and precautions to be observed
  • How to inspect abrasive wheels, diamond tip blades and equipment
  • Health hazards -Silica Dust, Noise and Vibration
  • Use of suitable Personal Protective Equipment, such as respiratory and eye protection
  • How to mount abrasive wheels and diamond tip blades
  • The functions of all components used.
